BLACK HISTORY IS HUMAN HISTORY

Throughout the month of February we will be highlighting Black ingenuity in all corners of the art world and focussing on creating more space for meaningful dialogue with our readers, with Black voices at the forefront. From creation to curation; from the past to the present, we will be celebrating Black History — or what we at AEL acknowledge to be Human History — during this month and every month of the year, specially as we continue to witness the making of history. Stay tuned! To kick things off, we would like to congratulate all the artists selected for Kehinde Wiley's residency at Black Rock Senegal...

"The best art is political and you ought to be able to make is unquestionably political and irrevocably beautiful at the same time."
